Grassroots Youth Development Organization (GYDO), established in 2014, uplifts the underprivileged in Bangladesh. Through community-driven initiatives, focuses on health, education, environmental sustainability, and social justice. We mobilize young volunteers to promot economic independence through skill development and leadership cultivation.
GYDO empowers communities through hands-on programs in women’s skill development, sustainable seaweed farming, and digital literacy. From teaching underprivileged women to create and sell handmade crafts, to training youth in digital skills, and promoting eco-friendly marine farming, our activities focus on creating lasting impact through education, innovation, and economic opportunity.
An Integrated Approach to Uplift Underprivileged Women Tararmela is a transformative initiative designed to empower underprivileged women by equipping them with handcraft skills such as sewing, crafting, and hand painting. Through structured training and continuous support, participants gain both creative skills and economic opportunities. A significant milestone of the program was the launch of a dedicated outlet to showcase and sell the handmade products. This not only provided a sustainable source of income but also gave the women a platform to gain recognition and confidence. Over time, many participants successfully transitioned to independent entrepreneurship, demonstrating the long-term impact and effectiveness of the initiative.
Empowering Youth Through Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurship The Digital Okkhor Gari initiative is a mobile training project aimed at equipping youth with essential computer skills, digital marketing knowledge, and entrepreneurial tools. Supported by the ICT Division, the program empowers participants to thrive in the digital economy and unlock new income opportunities. With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, the project prioritizes access for underprivileged youth and girls, helping to close the digital gap and foster economic independence in marginalized communities.
Driving Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Practices GYDO’s climate action efforts focus on educating communities about environmental issues and promoting sustainable living. Through tree planting drives, clean-up campaigns, awareness workshops, and youth-led environmental initiatives, we aim to inspire responsible behavior and climate resilience at the grassroots level. Our goal is to build a greener, healthier future—starting from the community, for the planet.
Building Inclusive Mindsets in Nonprofit Work This workshop is designed to educate nonprofit volunteers on the fundamentals of gender equality, inclusivity, and sensitivity. Through interactive sessions, real-world case studies, and group discussions, participants learn how to recognize and challenge gender bias, foster respectful communication, and create safe, equitable spaces within their communities. The training empowers volunteers to become advocates for gender justice in both their personal and organizational roles.
